Question: Spring fever is here. Are we safe? As we look around the globe, it's important to wonder whether or not we are or aren't safe as we see what's happening in different countries. If you look at China and Hong Kong, you realize they're being overwhelmed in their healthcare system with COVID. But these countries don't have a high vaccination rate among their vulnerable elderly, and they also don't have the vaccines that are as successful as the ones we have here at home. What about in Western Europe like the United Kingdom? Are we seeing things that are going to indicate we're going to have a double wave like they are? One of the things to note is if you look at some of the countries around the world, they couldn't wait for Spring to come and they actually released their masking mandates and their other protections while they were still coming down from their COVID Winter wave. And if you don't wait until you really hit rock bottom, you can see it spring right back up because there are still cases that are infectious that can cause a rebound phenomenon. Here at home, we're really pleased to say that we actually released our mask mandate when we were at rock bottom. Our rock bottom rates mean that we have very very little COVID. And it also means that we are coming right into the warm weather, and we know that Spring has been a very very safe season for us for COVID.
